For the third week in a row the Steelers inactives are somewhat dictated by injuries.
The team will be without receiver James Washington, who suffered a groin injury in practice and was ruled out on Friday. In addition, cornerback Cameron Sutton, who suffered a groin injury against the Packers and missed practice all week, has also been ruled out and is inactive today.
The defensive line will be without Carlos Davis, inactive for the fourth-straight week with a knee injury.
For the Broncos, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who was cleared from the concussion protocol, is active for today’s game. Receiver Courtland Sutton is also active.
Receiver Cody White was activated to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. The last two weeks White was activated to the Active/Inactive roster from the practice squad for the Packers and Bengals games. He had two receptions for 17 yards against Cincinnati.
White was originally signed to the Steelers practice squad near the start of the 2020 season, spending the entire season there. He entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent, signed by the Kansas City Chiefs following the 2020 NFL Draft. He also spent time with the New York Giants and Denver Broncos before being signed by the Steelers.
In addition, safety Karl Joseph was elevated to the Active/Inactive roster from the practice squad. Joseph, who played for the Cleveland Browns in 2020, was signed to the Steelers practice squad at the start of the season. He played in 14 games last season for the Browns, starting eight, and finished with 66 tackles, four pass defenses and an interception. He also added two fumble recoveries.
Also inactive today are quarterback Dwayne Haskins, cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon and linebacker Buddy Johnson.
